To prepare for the start of SY18–19, AIR has been updating their systems. The systems will go live after AIR and OSPI have tested the systems to be sure they are functioning as intended. The updated User Guides and training Modules will follow in a rolling fashion after each system goes live. The status of each AIR system is listed below.

Opened Monday, August 6. Use the “First Time Login This School Year?” feature to update your account for SY18–19.

Opened Monday, August 6. The Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments can be viewed for training purposes.

This system is no longer a separate program/system. The functions of the THSS have been incorporated into AIRWays.

Coming in late-August. AIR and OSPI are currently testing this system, including the newly incorporated THSS functions.

Opened Wednesday, August 8 with limited data available, as detailed below. The system will say “Data Not Found” if you look for data that is not released yet.

SY16–17 and previous: All test data is available.

SY17–18: Data from Smarter ICA/IABs, Smarter Summative, ELPA21 Screener and ELPA21 annual are available. WCAS data is scheduled to be available on Wednesday, September 5.

SY18–19: OSPI is still running quality checks to ensure that the quality and presentation of scores is correct. We anticipate making ELPA21 Screener scores available about ten days after the first students take the new dynamic ELPA21 Screener. Scores from Smarter ICA/IABs will be available in late-August, coinciding with the opening of AIRWays.

    August 9, 2018–WCAS score availability

Scores from the 2018 WCAS are scheduled to be available in ORS on Wednesday, September 5. The scores will be released to the public on the OSPI Report Card website on Monday, September 10. A webinar about the score reports will be presented on Thursday, September 20; visit the Science Assessment webpage to register. • May 3, 2018 – Windows 10 Spring update incompatibility with Secure Browser

Issue was discovered with running the latest Windows 10 Spring Release and the Secure Browser. The Spring Release appears to have Microsoft Edge running in the background at all times, which prevents the Secure Browser from functioning properly. Microsoft Edge would need to be removed completely for Secure Browser to operate without interruption. AIR recommends holding off on allowing any Windows 10 machines that will be used for SBA testing to be updated to the Spring Release.

  • May 1, 2018 –Chrome OS is not supported in Tablet Mode for use with Secure Browser

Google recently launched a new feature called Tablet Mode, which came out with Chrome OS 64 on flip touch screen devices. AIR has found issues with this new feature that make it incompatible with the online Test Delivery System (TDS); therefore, AIR does not support Tablet Mode for online student testing, and districts should not use it during online testing. AIR will be working with Google to resolve the identified issues and provide support in the future. In the meantime, because TDS cannot identify whether a student is testing on a regular Chromebook or a Chromebook using Tablet Mode, this feature will not be blocked.

Please contact the WCAP Help Desk if you have any additional questions.
